Poppy | Antelope Valley, CA
My Poppy shoe project was originally an entry for the Melissa NEXT design competition. I wanted to create a shoe inspired by the endless fields of California poppies that bloom each spring in Antelope Valley. The bloom is dependent on the amount of rain received during the winter. When the desert receives an abundant amount of rain during the winter months, a superbloom occurs where a large amount of poppies seem to be endless for miles.

The poppies are most vibrant in late April, right before summer dries out the fields.
Behind the CASA Project | Joshua Tree, CA
My boyfriend and I went camping in Joshua Tree with two other friends. Our car was packed to the brim with supplies, and we had stuffed two tents in at the last minute. When it came time to set up and camp, we spent a good amount of time getting our tents in order. At night, I had trouble sleeping-- a bag on top of a sleeping pad wasn't the most comfortable. I wanted to design an easier solution for storing a tent that didn't take up too much space and was convenient to set up.

Inspiration Point | Wrightwood, CA
I love going on long drives and discovering new places. Following Highway 2 above San Bernadino led me to Inspiration Point. There were still patches of snow at the highest points, even in April. I was inspired to work on my Sight / binoculars project after seeing the views.

Bikes, bikes, and more bikes!
I love bikes of any kind because they keep me active! I have a lot of energy all the time and they're a great way to exercise. Working on my Peloton Duo was a fun challenge for me because I wanted to make sure the bike could be used indoors, true to the original Peloton exercise bike.
